PORPITA 3 (nfs)

Based on the microscopic jellyfish Porpita. Light from a camera hits the jelly fish which acts as a prism, splitting light into swirls of spectral colour and shape. commercial and painted fabrics. machine pieced and quilted. Holes made by burning using candles and joss sticks, with reverse applique.

Winner: Judges Choice, Festival of Quilts 2004.

Chosen by British Microscopic Society for exhibition at Warwickshire Museum.

Exhibited at Quilts UK, Malvern, and published in Patchwork and Quilting magazine Aug 2003 (Edwina Mackinnon)

Exhibited at Community Arts Workshop and featured in CAW Listings.



PORPITA 2 (NFS)

Based on the same principles as above. A colourwash moving from reds and oranges through to green and blue.

Machine stitched and quilted.



THE OLD EUCALYPT

(SOLD - DESTINATION UNKNOWN.)























Based on an aboriginal image of a eucalyptus tree, together with colours and textures of an old eucalypt in my garden
. Hand painted cloth textured with small pleats. Mesh made with embellished and melted tyvek. Leaves are painted cloth which has been wired to allow them to hang freely and be manipulated. Stems wired and heavily machine stitched. Peacock butterfly, machine stitch on dissolvable film. Exhibited at Community Arts Workshop, and Kenilworth Library.
