Laura and I had a wonderful and very busy time at the Festival of Quilts at the beginning of August. Linda was able to come in for a couple of days as well, and I know lots of people enjoyed having a good chat and catch up!
The live painting was great fun, and although I can’t claim great results for my own painting, Laura and I enjoyed it and managed to raise nearly £350 in our Save the Children donations bucket that we had next to us. Together with the funds raised by the Portrait Shuffle we were able to donate a total of £2308.72. A huge thank you to anyone who took part or popped a bit of change in our bucket!
Here’s a bit of the Portrait Shuffle – it actually went around 3 walls with over 180 portraits submitted.
I shall be giving a short talk and answering questions as a “Friday Focus” at Leamington Spa Art Gallery and Museum, on 13th October 2017 at 1pm. It’s free and although only scheduled for half an hour, the art gallery are ok if it goes on for a bit afterwards, and I’ll happily talk at more length then about processes and ideas. I shall take along the Self Portrait in the Third Person, Poisonous Plant, and the unfinished piece The Fragility of Self Worth. (Always good to see how things are made and this latter one is in two parts at the moment!) Great if you can come along!
